Welcome to the webpages for the Student Leadership Academy of Venice Florida, this site is primarily for students and their families to help them in their educational goals as it relates to our facility.
Brief explanation of our Links:
The link for "Current News" will take you to the page where pertinent, current information resides, along with a calendar that shows events and activities for the coming 2-3 months.
The "Media Center" encompasses our Library activities.
"Student Activities" is where you will find out about our Clubs, Sports, and also lists some previous SLA events, and more can be found under the "Archives" link.
The "Newsletters" page is where we post for download the SLA parent newsletter, "SLA Source". It is published once per month. It is available in MSWord or PDF formats. A Student Newsletter, the "SLA Scoop" is also published and distributed to the students once a month. Our newsletters are a project of our Journalism Class, supervised by Trina Aker.
The rest of the links are self-explanatory, so take a few minutes to peruse the site.
This website is continually in the building stages and input is welcome from students, from their families, and from our staff and faculty. Send your suggestions/contributions to the Webmaster.
SLA is about learning and volunteerism as a way of contributing back to our communities, a way of instilling good citizenship skills, and to foster the feeling of community and participation and the esteem that we build in ourselves as we contribute to our society.
We hope you will find something worthwhile here, something of benefit for ourselves, and something to offer to others.
All submissions for the website go through Carolyn Smugorzewski or Gary Allain and the preferred method is in electronic form (that's email folks), but paper submission is fine also, it just means it has to be converted for use here and will add to the time it takes to prepare it for the website. A simple text file can be pasted into an email, or you can attach an MSWord document to an email, both are easy ways of getting the information to us.
