Open House
SLA hosts three invigorating events during the year to welcome new and present families to explore our school and engage staff.
Our first event is our annual Coffee Hour held in January for families considering SLA as their educational home. After a delicious breakfast, parents are introduced to administrators, and sixth grade teachers. They are then taken on a tour of the school where their tour guide and student representative will be glad to answer any inquiries. This event is held primarily for parents as it occurs during the school day.
The second event is Open House in August before the school year starts. Parents and students attend to obtain their new schedule and meet with teachers. Additional information is provided such as campus maps, bus routes, and PALS volunteer registration.
Our last event during the year is Back to School Night. This event is for families to be able to experience a shortened version of their students’ schedule. Families will attend ten minute classes accompanied by a lunch period with our principal, Vickie Marble.
